International mechanical engineering company

An international mechanical engineering company sets us the task of improving the ecovadis rating to at least “bronze”. At the end of the project, “ecovadis silver” was achieved and a sustainability report is completed. The company is now following up and planning to internationalize its sustainability management.

Challenge

A key client requested a better ecovadis rating. Therefore, we recommended the introduction of a certified environmental management system and the completion of an initial sustainability report. The time frame was set from January to November.

Approach

BUNAWI took on the assignment with a network partner in order to provide the necessary capacities: We set up an internal sustainability and environmental team and scheduled regular meetings. By summer, we had prepared the first sustainability report (DNK) and determined the unresolved issues for environmental management certification by means of an on-site inspection and document review. In late summer, environmental management certification was successfully achieved in time for the ecovadis rating in the fall. 

Solution

The customer's minimum requirements (ecovadis bronze) in the rating were exceeded and the company achieved “ecovadis silver”. The company now uses an environmental management system and a sustainability report which is backed up by corresponding structures. The next step is to internationalize a sustainability management system.
