Medium-sized food company

BUNAWI was commissioned by a medium-sized food company to review and improve a sustainability report. The focus lies on coaching for a materiality assessment and an editorial report analysis. In an industry where sustainability is of strategic importance, the project team successfully contributed to improving the understanding of sustainability and increasing the credibility of the report.

Challenge

Prior to the project, the company had already published its first sustainability report and furthermore a climate strategy/ balance sheet. However, the internal perception was that the report lacks structure and does not provide enough depth or focus in other areas.

Approach

In a small project team including the management, we performed a materiality assessment in several short online meetings after getting to know each other in person. On this basis, the sustainability strategy was revised. BUNAWI analyzed the previous year's sustainability report and made specific recommendations for improvement.

 

Solution

With the materiality assessment, the company now has a methodological basis for the future and the project participants gained a better understanding of the reporting requirements. The sustainability report has gained depth and credibility in an industry where the topic of sustainability became strategically crucial earlier than in other industries
